Morning ItineraryMorning

Start your day with a round or two of mimosas and day-starting delights with breakfast at The Surfing Fox, our on-site gathering spot featuring a made-in-California menu. Fuel up for a day of sun-soaked fun on the ocean-view patio, then take your pick: hit the pool deck or hit the trails.

For groups that prefer to start the morning slow, our heated pool is the perfect place to take a refreshing morning dip or lounge with a latte. Those who would rather kick off the day with a sweat (plus stunning scenery) will love Tongva Park, a six-acre urban oasis within walking distance of The Pierside, or Palisades Park, an iconic park that stretches over twenty-six acres along Ocean Avenue.

Reserve bikes from The Board Shop The Pierside’s one-stop rental shop and cruise toward Third Street Promenade, an open-air shopping destination home to over 80 retailers, a farmers’ market, and restaurants and bars showcasing the flavors of the world. Park your bike and stroll the afternoon away along this pedestrian-only paradise spanning three stunning blocks.

You won’t need to venture far to find delicious eats in this area. Make a lunch stop at nearby favorites like the Mexican mainstay Mercado, the European-inspired Massilia, or the happy hour hotspot The Independence. Then, make the short trip back to your home base at The Pierside to freshen up for after-dark fun.

The most magical and photogenic time to visit the Santa Monica Pier is during golden hour. Bustling with street performers and glittering with the lights of the famous Pacific Wheel, it’s worth the trip for the photo alone. Just a few walkable blocks from the beach is the iconic Ocean Avenue, where you’ll find a stunning selection of perfect places to dine with friends and toast to time together.

Looking to make it a late one? Santa Monica nightlife is more relaxed than what you’d find in Hollywood or Downtown Los Angeles. No dress codes. No guest list. No worries. From buzzing rooftop hangouts like Elephante Beach House to cozy wine bars like Esters Wine Shop & Bar and famous dives like Chez Jay, you’ll find the right vibe in no time.
